Iron & Stone
Hey all,
I wrote the song this year, not long after my youngest kids graduated from high school. Guess it put me in a philosophical mood. The line "Father's and sons are never quite done" is among the truest I think I've ever been blessed with. It's a sacred relationship, just as all parent-child ones are. I'm reminded of Shawn Colvin's song, I think it's called "I'll say I'm sorry now," or something close to that, in which she apologizes to her infant for all the mistakes she's bound to make as a parent. We do make mistakes. But hopefully love carries the day. I wanted love to pour out of this one. <3
Thanks for listening,
Tim
